Airrosti Rehab Centers provides
soft-tissue injury treatment for Humana members

• Agreement for all Humana commercial and Medicare PPO members in Texas
• Soft-tissue injuries managed rapidly, often in two to six visits with Airrosti

SAN ANTONIO, TX. — August 22, 2008 — Airrosti Rehab Centers and Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) today announced an agreement that will provide in-network coverage benefits for rehabilitation services for Humana’s commercial and Medicare PPO members in Texas. Effective immediately, Humana’s members statewide will be able to seek treatment for soft- tissue injuries at Airrosti-certified rehab centers for the cost of an applicable physical therapy co-payment or co-nsurance.

Airrosti’s treatment model focuses on treating musculoskeletal injuries through intense,
one-on-one sessions with Airrosti-affiliated providers, which often results in a more rapid healing of soft-tissue injuries. The hands-on sessions focus on accurate diagnoses which determine specific and tailored treatments for acute and chronic injuries such as carpal tunnel, back pain and rotator cuff issues.

Patients often heal rapidly from injuries and can quickly resume normal levels of activity.
Employer groups benefit from significantly lower medical costs from a reduced number of physical therapy visits and a reduced amount of the typical productivity losses associated with
employee injuries.

“Airrosti’s treatment method gives patients and employers what they want – an efficient,
effective way to manage soft-tissue injuries as rapidly as possible and get back to normal
activities as they relate to personal life and to business,” said Ken Malcolmson, chief executive
officer of Humana’s West Central Region. “We think Humana members will find great value in
the way Airrosti’s staff personalizes the rehabilitation experience, identifying the exact cause of
an injury and providing a highly specific treatment that often has an immediate impact on pain,
strength and range of motion.”

Airrosti Rehab Centers currently has 33 locations throughout Texas. Humana members can
locate a rehab center in Texas by logging on to MyHumana.com and using the MyChoice Tools
or by visiting www.airrosti.com.

“We knew Humana as a company with a stellar reputation to provide quality, cost-effective
solutions to the employer market, and we thought Humana’s approach to health benefits would
fit well with our approach to healing injuries,” said Kelly E. Green, chief executive officer of
Airrosti Rehab Centers. “As Airrosti expands throughout Texas, we look forward to serving
more Humana members.”
